CONSULTATION CLOSED - Pupil Admission Number (PAN) Reduction Consultation

Consultation – Reduction of our Published Admission Number (PAN)

The Published Admission Number (PAN) at Christ the Sower Ecumenical School is currently 60. This means that the number of pupils admitted to the academy in Reception each year is a maximum of 60. The Trustees of the Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust (ODBST) and school’s Senior Leadership Team wish to reduce this by 30 places which will result in an annual pupil intake of 30 effective from September 2024 onward. This is because falling birth rates both in Milton Keynes and nationally is leading to an oversupply of YR places.

Reducing the PAN will assist the Trust to provide stability in its long-term planning and allow the school to secure high-quality educational outcomes for the pupils currently on our roll. It will also provide an appropriate number of places for future pupil numbers in line with demand in the Milton Keynes area.

The Admission Regulations and Code of Practice require an admissions authority to consult when proposing to reduce the PAN of a school. ODBST, as the admissions authority for Christ the Sower and is seeking comments on the proposed change. It is important to the ODBST Board and our Local Governing Body that we consider the views of parents and the wider community. If you would like to contribute to the consultation, please use the links below to access further information and to respond to the Local Governing Body’s proposals.

Statement of values and virtues

Each year group in Christ the Sower is affiliated with a specific Christian value or virtue. Over the year, the children learn how to put that value or virtue into practice so that it impacts on their character and begins to change them - this process is called discipleship, reflecting the fact that we all learn from others how to live and conduct ourselves.

In September 2019 we were delighted to become part of the Oxford Diocese Bucks Schools Trust family of schools. We are a multi academy trust committed to supporting our children to achieve all they possibly can and, in doing so, children and families experience the best quality of education and care. We have a nursery that accepts children from 3 for either 15 or 30 hours. We enjoy nurturing and teaching our children as they grow and learn through our new Cultural Curriculum and well established Christian Ethos. Our children leave us at the end of Y6 ready for secondary school as amazing young people.

The Trust has made every effort to ensure that these arrangements comply with the School Admissions Code 2014 and all relevant legislation including that on infant class sizes and equal opportunities. If you would like to be part of our journey and would like to come and visit us then please make an appointment through the school office, we would love to meet you and your children.
