We are going to be using a series of videos made by White Rose to help you with your maths learning. These videos will help you to understand the concept and there will be activities to help you practise what you have been shown.
Click here to visit the Year 5 area of their website. We would like you to begin with Summer Term Week 1 Lesson 4 (Adding decimals - crossing the whole).
Watch the video and then answer the questions by clicking on the ‘Get the Activity’ tab to download the worksheet. Don’t worry if you can’t print it, just write the answers in your home learning book.
You can check your answers on the same page where the video is saved under ‘Get the Answers’.
Using the plants that you found yesterday, or examples you found on the Internet, think about what would happen if two of them were able to pollinate each other to create a new seed.
What would the new plant look like?
Which plant would the petal shape be inherited from?
Will the colour come from one of the parent plants or be a mixture of both?
Can you link your knowledge of seed dispersal to the process or the new plant?
Draw the parent plants and the offspring and label the features.
