Today you are going to be completing some reading comprehension activities based on the beginning of the book ‘Wonder’ by R. J. Palacio. How many of you have already read the book? If you haven’t, then maybe you would like to see if you can get a copy if the first part interests you. Click here for the text and the questions. Complete as many of the different steps as you can: they are designed to get a bit harder each time. The answers can be found here.

We are going to continue to follow the activities provided by White Rose. Remember, you need to watch the video on their website and download the resources from the links below. Today, you need to complete Summer Term Week 10 Lesson 1 (Introducing the ratio symbol).

Watch the video by clicking here to visit the Year 6 area of their website and then answer the questions by clicking here to download the worksheet. Don’t worry if you can’t print it, just write the answers in your home learning book.

You can check your answers here.

You can also have a look at the resources on the BBC Bitesize website here. They link with the White Rose activity each day.

Many of your new secondary schools have now been in touch with you or your parents to share information about moving up to Year 7. Some have sent transition booklets and ideas; others have arranged virtual meetings.

Today we would like you to spend some time completing these activities and investigating your new school. Here is a quiz you can complete by exploring their website.

Think carefully about any questions you have that you would like to ask teachers from your secondary school. If you are moving up to Shenley Brook End, can you please email them to . For other schools, there may come a time when we ask you to send us yours as well or they may contact you to ask you themselves, so keep hold of them.
