Parent Council

The Parent Council is a group of parents who have volunteered to be part of the consultative process that helps the school make decisions on behalf of children.

It was set up in 2009 and has continued to be an effective means of communication between school and the parent body. In essence it is a consultative body, responsible to the governing body, and whilst it has no formal decision-making powers, nearly all of its suggestions and requests have resulted in action from the school, since we take it seriously.

The council meets twice a term. It is a chance to share hopes and concerns about the school community and all the children’s education. We believe that parental involvement in school decision making has a valuable impact on educational standards and on the effectiveness of the school.

The current chair of the group is Martin Hosier and the secretary is Gill Quinnell

The next meeting is on Thursday 28th June 2018 at 7.30 pm in the staff room

All members, and any other interested parents, are strongly encouraged to attend.
