This week, we are going to be using some resources and videos online to look at writing a leaflet.
Today, you will be continuing to look at an example and answer related questions. Click here to access the video and lesson information.
We are going to continue to follow the activities provided by White Rose. Click here to visit the Year 6 area of their website. This is going to have a fractions focus. Today, you need to complete Summer Term Week 4 Lesson 2 (Multiply fractions by fractions).
Watch the video and then answer the questions by clicking here to download the worksheet. Don’t worry if you can’t print it, just write the answers in your home learning book.
There is also additional support on the BBC Bitesize website.
You can check your answers here.
This week we are going to be focusing on geography. Yesterday you looked at the plates which cover the Earth and why they are important.
Today we are going to think about volcanoes and earthquakes, which should be a reminder of some of your work from Year 4. Carry out some research into a natural disaster which involved either a volcano or an earthquake.
Why did it happen?
Where was it?
When did it occur?
What impact did it have on the population?
You could use a video (like this one for example) to help you explain how they are linked to the tectonic plates.
Display your research in anyway you choose. This could include:
- A leaflet
- A newspaper article
- A diary
- A labelled diagram or model with a paragraph
- A filmed television news report
- A poster
